In this video, I decided to shoot an entire roll of 35mm film guided solely by the roll of dice 🎲. This is an assignment from one of my favourite photography books: The Photographer's Playbook. Assignment is by Shawn Records. In today's video, Sathya has tried to execute his idea of shooting anamorphic panoramas with a film camera using his trusty Nikon F4S and a Blazar Nero Anamorphic 1.5X adapter. The camera first captures squeezed images on to the film. Film is then developed and scanned. First long vacation in a while, kept it simple with black and white film for the most part. Fomapan 400 is certainly a good film stock for regular use. As for Ilford XP2 Super 400, I might have to shoot it in my Nikon F4 to see how good the film is as the disposable camera probably didn't do it justice. I've been getting into photo books lately, this book with Fred Herzog's work is definitely a gem to own. I regularly flip through and always find something new to look at. He was a pioneer of colour street photography in Canada in the 50s. Success and fame found him in his late 70s. Lots to learn from this incredible artist when it comes to creativity and process. By end of 2021, Fuji will officially stop the supply of PRO400H. As devastating as this news is, I wanted to experience this film before it is too late. So this video is my experience shooting a couple of rolls of Fuji Pro 400H in London town! I love it! I loved it so much that I bought a couple of packs to save me some for the future! A couple of weeks ago, I went for a walk along London's canals with the Ilford HP5 Plus 400 in my Nikon F4S + 50mm f1.8 combo. 0:00 Film Loading 0:11 Location/Photos 2:20 Mistakes & thoughts This was my first time shooting a black and white film and in this video, I've shared some of the shots from that walk and a mistake I've made by underexposing half of the film, not realising that a roll of film can't be developed in two different developing times :) Watch the video to find out how the exposures turned out.
