How to build a BOOKLIGHT with ONE C-STAND.
The booklight has been a great way to get a big soft source for years now. it's nothing new, but it's also hard to setup alone with limited time. The moment you've all been waiting for! The mostly finished studio tour. It took me longer than I had hoped to finish this small space but it also took more planning and experimenting than I had originally thought. Zulu Zulu Victor - My Rode Reel 2014
Zulu Zulu Victor is a short documentary film I made for the 2014 My Rode Reel Film Festival. It takes you into the deep bond a grandfather and grandson share in their love of flying. Brendan, my step brother has followed his grandfather's footsteps in becoming a pilot and although Al, his grandfather has passed away since the making of this short film. His legacy lives on in Brendan's passion for flying.
For The Love of Running - Victoria Pringle. (Shot on A7sIII)
This was originally meant to be a camera test when I first got the Sony A7siii but as usual, I turned it into a small vignette of a friend of mine. Victoria tells us of her struggle to maintain the drive to continue running while facing down some of her toughest days in her career all while losing her community and reason for training. I shot this over the course of a year and while this film isn't perfect it felt good to make something from start to finish. Shot on: Sony A7siii DJI MAVIC 2 PRO DJI AIR 2S Sony FS7II
Gerald Undone was coming to the studio. I was scared. Here's why.
Jokes aside it was fun having a bunch of camera nerds by the studio again getting to chat about filmmaking, youtube and Sweden.

Thanks again to Arkel Bicycle bags for supplying me with the bags to make these videos possible! Check out www.arkel-od.com to find where you can get your own Canadian made bags!

Field Trip 001 - A good old fashion Ontario pow day! [still some ice]
@JesseDriftwood and I finally got out to blue mountain for a day and had some fun on the icy but somewhat powdery hills of Ontario's escarpment.
CANADA, You're Gorgeous.
From October to November 2021 I went with a small production team to film Griff's Great Canadian Adventure for BBC Canada, Channel 4 and Australia Broadcasting Corporation. We worked with local tourism boards, NAVCAN and local authorities to capture some pretty amazing aerial images that show how beautiful Canada is, even during shoulder season, that grey/brown period just before the snow starts to fall. Everything shot on the DJI AIR 2S and MAVIC 2 PRO
IKAN TELEPROMPTER ELITE PRO - best iPad teleprompter I've used.
I recently picked up the IKAN TELEPROMPTER ELITE PRO. Spoiler, it's great!
Hi, it's been a while. (I've been filming a BBC CANADA TRAVEL SERIES).
So many great vids in the works!
This is another vlog about so many youtube/film projects!

Gravel Rides + Shooting on RED
This past week My good buddy Josh Laszlo and I were fortunate enough to work on a bigger (to us) commercial. We had a great team of collaborators who helped us make some great content for a well known brand and I thought I'd bring you along for the ride... or as much as I can share.

2020 SUCKED... Let's Make 2021...Not suck.
What are you doing to make 2021 a better year? I'm doing my best to set goals that are within my control and forgetting about the rest.
MY FIRST BIKE PACKING TRIP - Muskoka Backcountry Loop
This year has been a tough one for all of us. Travel has been limited and our social circles have gotten smaller. My bike has always been a way for me to escape and this year it's been especially important that I take advantage of these two wheeled machines. So when Paulo reached out to invite me along on my first ever bike packing trip I jumped at it! This video was a ton of fun to make. At first I had no idea what the story would be. I didn't spend alot of time thinking about the filming aspect as I was just trying to survive the trip so it took me a while to start sifting through the footage. It wasn't until a month ago I thought it would be fun to interview the other guys on the trip to hear their recollections of the trip and learn a bit about why they love bike packing. Thanks again to Paulo for all of the photos, (The thumbnail is his shot of John)!
Torrin Gettin' SENDY in the Valley
I hadn't seen Torrin in a couple of years since he left to live in Kamloops BC. He had posted a photo riding locally so I jumped at the chance and gave him a shout to see if he wanted to film a quick edit. This is the result and I'm pretty stoked!

Off to the EMERGENCY ROOM - Adam's Run Hydrocut
It's no secret. Mountain biking is dangerous. I've broken my collarbone, had plates installed on two metacarpals, gotten road rash and all the other bumps cuts and bruises. Gotta Pay to Play // Christie Lake Build Day (in 4k)
That is probably the rhymiest title I'll ever create! Get out there and help on your next local trail build/maintenance day! You'll meet new riding buddies and feel a sense of ownership over your local trails. Progression Session with Yohann // Part 01
A couple weeks ago Yohann called me up asking where we should ride. Within an hour we had a slot booked in at Kelso Conservation to ride for a couple of hours and it turned into a great ride for me to work on my technical skills and overcome some features that had scared the sh*t out of me in passed years. Sorry for the audio, I forgot to check the GoPro settings and change the audio to hold on stereo. Shot on the GoPro Hero 7 Black with a windscreen.
Taking a boat across rough waters to ride bikes. Sounded fun to us!
A few weeks ago Steve invited me up to his family cottage. We had been playing lots of Modern Warfare talking about the days we'd get to ride together again, especially up at Georgian Nordic. One of my favourite trail systems in Ontario. It's uniquely flowy and technical and I had talked it up to Steve for years. This would finally be the trip we got up there together! If you go to Georgian Nordic, be sure to check out one of their newer trails... Grizzly Bear. Some great techy climbs and even better descents! Unfortunately my GoPro died before we finished the trail but Steve was stoked when he finally got to ride the trails!
Bon Echo - Abes & Esson's Loop [17km Back Country Loop]
A few weeks ago I tagged along with my younger brother and his girlfriend Devin on a backcountry trip through Bon Echo. The loop is a higher level intermediate loop that does a figure eight if you do the full hike. Absolutely beautiful views if you come prepared for the bugs. Full bug jackets are highly recommended in June and July. I used the Rode Stereo Videomic X, as the name suggests it's stereo so it picks up more of the ambient sounds that you'll hear around you. So throw on some good headphones and immerse yourself in some Ontario backcountry sounds. Shot on the Sony a7iii Tamron 17-28 f2.8 Tamron 28-75 f2.8
🕺NEW GRAVEL BIKE FINALLY REVEALED💃🏽(Hint is in the Emoji's ;)
I cannot wait to take this bike on some big adventures this summer! Definitely want to do my first overnighter and experiment with what a true gravel bike can handle so be sure to follow along to see what fun stuff I get up too on this insanely capable bike! Big thanks to Stu, Ian, Christoph, Yohann, Andrew, Zach and everyone else that helped with this build and video.
I HAD A CHECKLIST...
It's no secret... The Hydrocut has some of the best trails Ontario has to offer when it comes to flowy singletrack. They're probably one of the most well organized trail networks as well when it comes to community build days and city support. There are always new trails being planned and built on, minor tweaks and changes are always being made and improved on. I made the trip back out to finally ride some of the trails I helped build in years passed!
HOW TO IMPORT GOPRO MAX FOOTAGE INTO PREMIER PRO CC 2020
When I got my GoPro MAX late last year I found the import process a little confusing when editing 360 footage in premier pro so I figured I'd make a video on the ingestion process for GoPro MAX footage in adobe premier pro CC 2020. Last year my brother did most of my Christmas shopping for my parents and family. Christmas morning I woke up to find I had accumulated almost all of the gear needed to do some back country camping. GoPro MAX REVIEW // From a Mountain Bikers PERSPECTIVE
After a year of watching some incredible 360 content I finally purchased the GoPro MAX last fall. Now, this wasn't quite the review I thought I would be doing on this camera and as much as I'd love to do a proper review on the trails we're not able to head into any conservation areas in the midst of the partial lockdown we're in. So... a gravel parking lot and empty soccer field will have to do! What do you think of 360 content? Have any other questions about the GoPro MAX?! Hit me up in the comments below! I've been watching a lot of Kraig Adams youtube videos travelling around the world and shooting these "silent-ish" short films of his travels. PREPPING FOR THE PARIS TO ANCASTER 2020... on the Swiss army knife of bikes!
The Paris to Ancaster is the one and only race I ever do. To me, cycling is my favourite pass time and in most cases I'm not all that competitive a person. This race is something different though, it welcomes all types of riders and you can see that in the unique selection of bikes that come out. I've been steadily increasing my riding skills over the last five years of the race and so I'm going big this time... WINTER BIKING GEAR with @CRANKNGRIND // [Pikangikum Ice Road Challenge]
With only ten days until the Pikangikum Ice Road Challenge to go, I made my way out to Guelph to meet up with a bike packing guru who I not only had been following on IG for years, but would also be doing the Ice Road Challenge. From what I had seen on IG I knew he would be the perfect person to speak with about the necessary gear you might need to complete a winter ride in harsh conditions. Both Paulo and Heather were amazing people, and I'm not just saying that because they sent me home with banana bread! Hopefully you find some inspiration for your own winter biking trips. Episode 02 of "The Locals" took me up to Huntsville to meet up with Joel Jones. I first learned about Joel through another well known Huntsville Instagrammer and outdoorsman, Nate Smith (aka @natemuskoka). Joel would often be featured in Nate's Instagram posts and after following Joel, I found out that he is also an incredible photographer that captures the insane amount of beauty the Huntsville/ Muskoka area has to offer while on his camping and canoeing trips! PIKANGIKUM DONATION SITE: https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/new-hope-community-bikes/ Andrew Hibma of New Hope Community Bikes approached me after seeing episode 01 of "The Locals". He told me about the bike program they had running up on the First Nations community of Pikangikum. It's a community 2000km north west of Toronto that is so far north it has no road access. The remote location of the community means that there is very little work for the population of 2,500 people and the youth suicide rate is incredibly high. New Hope, in partnership with the OPP, have raised enough funds to start this bike program, but they need funding to continue it's sustainability over the next couple of years. This year was the inaugural year of the 8 HRS OF HURTIN' IN HALIBURTON race. It was created by Marc Sinclair, a good friend and fellow mountain biker/ Groadie who had been vacationing at Haliburton Wildlife Reserve for a few years and realized the potential its main road had as a race course!
The Locals // Episode 01 // Mayor of Mountain Biking
Episode 01: It's finally here! The first episode of "The Locals" features Tim Price, a Dundas native and Freewheel Cycle ambassador. The idea for this series came about for a few reasons. First, I wanted to start working on projects that I was passionate about. Second, I think that in today's age it's so important to highlight the people that make it a conscious effort to get outside every day. It's so easy to stay inside and get "connected". Tim isn't one of those guys... I've known Tim for a few years now and after having the chance to get to know him, I quickly learned that you can't go anywhere without someone waving Tim down to say hi. This first episode quickly became something much bigger than anticipated when I reached out to the first few of his friends that would all finish their interviews with, "Oh if you want to know Tim, you HAVE to talk to this person!" HURTIN’ IN HALIBURTON (Instagram) - [4K]
The last upload for this had an issue so here it is... Again! This was the inaugural year for the eight hours of Hurtin' in Haliburton. My friend Marc had been wanting to start this race a few years back so he sat down, built a company, got the permits and funding and had over 60 people come out for it's first year! The course wasn't overly technical but that didn't stop people from getting loose in some sandy sections of the course. Each lap was 27.3 kilometres and it had some decent climbs! Full recap video will come... When I'm finished all of my client edits!
RAISIN RUN TO FRESH AIR
After the first few laps at Blue and suspension tuning I was starting to feel more comfortable on the trails.
OAKLEY DRT 5 (Great half shell for $249 CAD) 4K
I try and replace my helmet every few seasons once I notice the sweat and salt start to deteriorate the padding on the inside of the helmet shell. This time was a little different as I was heading out to Blue Mountain in Collingwood to do some downhill riding and I knew I would need something a little more substantial than my Specialized Tactic 2. It's a decent helmet but not as much coverage as I'd like. I also didn't have the time to find a full faced helmet within my price range so this one seemed to work nicely as I knew I wouldn't be riding hard. Don't Turn the GoPro on Mid Descent - FREEWHEEL GROUP RIDE (4K)
Last week I got out on another local group ride out of Freewheel Cycle in Dundas Ontario. We've got some pretty sweet local XC trails that utiliize the Hamilton Escarpment and get you some pretty decent descents! Group Rides are also great because you'll experience trails you may not have otherwise ridden before!
Traded in the MTB gear for LYCRA on this GRAVEL EPIC! (4K)
I'm not one for road riding, but give me a gravel bike and i'll taker for a rip. I first found this route while down at my local bike shop, Freewheel Cycle. They have a giant map of the Hamilton/ Burlington/ Brantford areas and I saw that the rail trail doesn't end at Brantford! It actually reconnects and continues on to Port Dover. So, I called up Pete and we were off on our 170km epic ride. What's your favourite gravel ride in your hometown? This was probably my favourite trail at Blue. I've started to learn that I like the steeper more technical riding than I do boosting tables. I can't seem to figure out the balance thing in the air. At some point I'll have to figure it out but for now enjoy O-Chute.

CHASING YOHANN DOWN EMBRYO - 4K
After mountain biking for over ten years I finally made it out to Blue Mountain with Yohann. The weather couldn't have been better and although I wasn't able to film more of my documentary, which was my main purpose for going, I had a blast learning the trails Blue had to offer.... Watch as I try to keep up with Yohann. He was wearing the GoPro Hero 7 Black edition with stabilization on and I was wearing the GoPro Hero 7 Black with the karma grip.
RIDING SLABS IN ONTARIO?! - 4K
This isn't clickbait I promise! As soon as you drive a couple hours north of Toronto there are a few places that you can find the same type of slabs, (albeit smaller) as you might find in Squamish and Whistler! I head up to Shebe Resort every summer and ride the Georgian Nordic Bike trails. They're a ton of fun so check them out when you get a chance!

If you want to skip ahead to see just the teaser and HBMBA update go to the 7:20 mark.
JUST ANOTHER KELSO VIDEO - 4K
After the early afternoon shower finished up Yohann and I were finally able to get out on a ride together. We both seem to have opposite schedules it seems so even though the trails at Kelso were a little wet and super greasy . we couldn't pass up the chance to go for a ride. If you do ride Kelso after some rain be careful, the rocks get sweaty and you might as well be on ice. THIS TRAIL IS CURSED... Another Trip to Urgent Care
This section of the Bruce trail has been a pain in my butt for years. Back in 2012 I broke my collarbone riding my first "real" trail bike, the 2012 GT Sensor. The next year I was riding the same trail but still managed a hospital trip and surgery when I had to have plates put into my right hand leaving me off the bike for another 8 weeks. When I finally had that bike stolen I looked at it as a blessing and bought my first Carbon trail bike. The GT FORCE Carbon Expert. Now it's the Stumpjumper's turn!
HBMBA TRAIL BUILD UPDATE
Just a quick update for the Hamilton Burlington Mountain Bike Association's June Trail maintenance day! The potential for rain kept alot of the volunteers at home but the small crew of dedicated builders came out and repaired some of the singletrack on the south side of Ebb & Flow! If you can make it out for a trail build day at your local trails, DO IT, it's a ton of fun and a great way to meet more riding friends! The next trail build day is July 13, 2019!!! . . . . It's no secret amongst our friends that Pete and I both love bikes. I also made sure that it wasn't a secret that I crushed him in the Paris to Ancaster race a couple of years back. The Hydrocut trails held another big build day on October 20th, 2018. It's a bit of a drive from Hamilton but always worth it when you know there will be a barbecue and beer afterwards! NORCO RADFEST @ HORSESHOE RESORT
Well, it's been four years since I had last been to Horse Shoe Resort when I first got my GT Force and "raced" my first Enduro. I air quote race because I was just trying to survive the course... and my rear hub blew up on the second stage so I didn't finish.... Anyways, Norco held a great event at Horseshoe Resort and I was stoked to try keep up with some of Steve's buds from his racing days. I've got the bug and need redemption on a couple of the trails for sure. Socials: @j_white89 @stevehayes_ @j2hill @rcarmichael4 @faat.mike @austinfloyddh Shot on: GH5 Hero 5 Karma Grip
She's Sandy @ Turkey Point Trails/ Post Ride Arbor Dog's **4K**

Trails in order: - Saudwinder - The Burn - Fox on The Run - Pail Trail - Pile Driver - Summit - Pail Trail - High Mile - Jimmy's Joker - Twisted Sister - Roundabout Shot on: GoPro Hero 6 w/ karma grip Audio: Zoom H1 mounted on a peak design camera strap.
HEADLAMPS ON ~ Riding Dundas Valley Singletrack at night!
Sometimes with everyone's work schedules it's tough to get in a weeknight ride before the sun sets in late summer... Wait how are we already in late summer?! I met up with Stu and Phil to go for a ride through the Dundas Valley with headlamps on. If you're able to get a powerful enough headlamp or handlebar light it's an experience worth trying! The night is cooler, the sounds are completely different and a trail you might know like the back of your hand feels somehow new!
Riding The Canadian Shield ~ ONTARIO GRANITE SLABS - (Georgian Nordic Part 02)
Part two of my ride with Wil Smith took us on to some of the more technical sections of trails. Steep climbs with short fun descents and a little northern Ontario Loam thrown in the mix. INTERVIEW w/ Parry Sound bikes & FRESH CUT TRAIL @ GEORGIAN NORDIC
With limited time in my work schedule to pump out youtube videos I was super happy that Aleesha of Parry Sound Bikes was willing to take some time out of her day to sit down and talk about running a bike shop in a small northern-ish Canadian Town. What I really love about her shop is how community focused they are and it shows! Watch the full interview and check them out if you're up in cottage country! Sunset Sessions/ RAW 100(ish)
I shot this a while back more as a scout and camera test with the new GH5 that I was still learning. I had planned on reshooting a couple of sections but unfortunately lost one rider to Whistler and another to injuries. Learned alot and hoping to make more of these throughout the seasons! Thanks to the guys from Freewheel Cycle for spending their evening riding the same sections of trail over and over to get the really mint shots! Sunday Sessions: The Hydrocut Part 02
We made the transfer from the Glasgow side which has long open and flowy trails to the Pines side where the trails are more technical both in the trail features in in the climbing. There is also a brand new trail we helped with building and take a look at the progress the main trail crew has made. If you see any trail builders, thank them! 10ish REASON'S TO BIKE TO WORK
Riding my bike to work is one of the things that keeps me sane through some long weeks. It takes some of the stress away when I'm feeling any kind of work pressure and gives me some fresh perspectives. Here are some of my other top reasons for commuting via bicycle to work! Have a personal story to share? Comment down below!
SPRING IS HERE!
This past weekend was earth day. It was also the first warm weekend of the spring so I had to take advantage of the weather and get out for some rides....
5 WORKOUTS TO MAKE YOU STRONGER ON YOUR BIKE
We all know the best way to get stronger on your bike is to get out and ride your bike. I've never really had a real training program and I'm not generally one to go to a gym but with it being so early in the season the weather is unpredictable. So here are some great exercises you can do AT HOME to keep you active on those off days! MARTIN ROAD P2A COURSE PREVIEW: The Final Grind
If there is one constant in the Paris to Ancaster it's the final grind up to the finish line. It's 2.5 kilometres of leg throbbing, heart pounding and lung exploding slog up to the finish line and if you can make it up the final 1km stretch on two wheels you've got something to be proud of! Late season PUSLINCH Shred! 4K/ Karma Grip

CHRISTIE CONSERVATION - RUNWAY
Just taking advantage of a few hours between work and the warm weather we've been having around Southern Ontario! HYDROCUT - ADAM'S RUN **IN 4K**
This trail is listed as an advanced trail. Keep your speed up when you hit the first rock garden because there is a drop right after you will gap a tree stump.
HYDROCUT - MONKEY BOY 2017 **SHOT IN 4K**
Monkey Boy is a fast and flowy shorter trail. It has a hard and easy way so choose depending on your riding ability!
HYDROCUT - GODZILLA **NEW TRAIL**
Godzilla is the newest trail at the Hydrocut. If you're wondering why they've named it that. Check out their instagram to see the drop they built. It's rollable, but barely! Will definitely need to work up to getting the speed to drop it.
HYDROCUT - KAMIKAZE BEE STING
I seem to be cursed on this trail. Of the three times I've been to the Hydrocut I haven't been able to get through the first section with some sort of problem. I had finally made it over the second roller and thought I was going to finish the whole trail.... A bee on the trail had other plans

Georgian Nordic Bike Trails
I definitely recommend checking out the Georgian Nordic Ski & MTB centre in Parry Sound. It's located just ten minutes outside of downtown Parry Sound and although still very new, you can loop the trails without getting bored. Very different style of riding!
Casual Night Ride - Tim's Trail - May 29, 2017
Tim's trail is located in the Main Loop of the Dundas Valley Conservation Area. You can find it on Trailforks.
Georgian Nordic Ski & MTB Trails - Weasel, Rattle Snake, Eagle,
Georgian Nordic Ski and Canoe Centre began building their trail network last summer in 2015 and have continued putting tons of time on dirt building around the Canadian shield rock. The single track is definitely technical and challenging in sections but they have made sure there is something for everyone. If you see a local there ask them to give you a tour like I did and they'll be more than willing to show you the best lines!
Christie Lake MTB trails - Devil's Punchbowl
Devil's Punchbowl is one of Christie Conservations advanced trails for its steep ascents and tight turns and switchbacks. Be sure to stay nimble on your bike winding through some of the trees on this trail! Shot on the Gopro Hero 4 Black Edition 1080p Superview 60fps
Georgian Bay Nordic Ski Club - Weasel + Rattlesnake
The Georgian Bay Nordic Ski Club has just entered their second season of trail building just outside of Parry Sound, Ontario. It was my first time there so I didn't know the trails well enough to ride them very fluidly and signage wasn't up yet, but hopefully you get a sense of how fun these trails will be in the near future, (that said, they already are)!
