But he's proved me wrong and here are 4 factors behind his growth on YouTube in 2020. 1 - Logan Paul is beating the youtube algorithm, again. This is is helping him grow and get more views every day. He is doing this through better thumbnails and titles on his videos. 2 - Logan packs a punch with his content. Logan's content is similar to David Dobrik's now. Much shorter and to the point. This really helps keep his watch time and retention high. Almost all of Logan’s new videos are around 4-7 minutes long, this is a huge shift away from the 15 minute plus vlogs he used to make and let me explain why it’s working to his advantage. 3 - Logan has been humbled. Enough said. The KSI fight and his podcast really helped. People are starting to like him again. You can have the best strategy in the world, but your camera presence on youtube is crucial to success and getting more subscribers 4 - Logan has realized the power of doing good. He started off as a kid in his bedroom, making videos on his webcam with a passion for reviewing tech. Fast forward to 2020 and Marques runs one of the biggest tech channels in the worlds and hangs out with the likes of Elon Musk. After experimenting with YouTube throughout 2008, Marques uploaded his first real video in January 2009. A review of a remote control for his HP laptop which he had just got for Christmas. Although no one was watching, this was the start of something special. Over the next 2 months he would pump out 100 videos, uploading 2 or 3 times a day. Factor number 1 is how MKBHD is killing the YouTube algorithm through search rankings. He has a video tutorial which got more views than his others. These extra views came from his video ranking in the YouTube search for a keyword that was seeing heavy traffic on that particular day. Being one of the first to upload and a targeting the keyword meant Marques’ video was on the first page of YouTube results for this search Factor number 2 is the fact that MKBHD is a GOAT reviewer. So Ranking on YouTube is all well and good but at the end of the day, the value you bring is the most important thing. MKBHD is of course a tech review channel, so what makes him such a good reviewer? Why do we always check his opinion out before buying a product? How does he have this much influence? Factor number 3 is how Marques Brownlee is constantly evolving his production value. I’m going to put it out there, Marques has the best-looking videos on YouTube. He shoots in 8k resolution, his audio is crystal clear, the colour grading is minimal but beautiful and he really tries to incorporate as much realism as possible into his video. Something no one before him has achieved The first factor I want to highlight is how Mr Beast has turned himself into a viral video making machine. In that time a lot has changed in the world, but Peter McKinnon is still growing on YouTube, he’s just bout to hit 4 million subscribers to be exact. The point of that video was to show how peter is to building his YouTube audience and the spotlight today is on how he monetizes that audience it in a lucrative but honest fashion. Before anyone accuses me of calling peter a sell-out. That is simply not the case here. Peter puts his audience and content first and it’s clear he loves what he does. However, I think we need to change our perception of YouTube as purely a passion project for creators. Yes you need to love the act of creating videos for your fans, it’s very clear when someone doesn’t and just does it for financial gain. If someone is willing to sacrifice hours upon hours filming, editing videos and growing a youtube channel, I think it’s only fair this hard work is rewarded. And it’s not like youtuber’s are given a monthly pay check from google, to make a career on this platform you need to have a strong business mind. There are multiple ways youtubers can turn their passion into a high earning career without being a money grabber exploiting their audience. 1. Build multiple Income Streams - One Key thing that all business savvy YouTubers do is to build multiple sources of revenue. Adsense is somewhat unreliable and by diversifying your income on YouTube you protect yourself and maximize your earning potential. Peter has 5 main streams of income. 2. The Power Of Positioning - On YouTube it is so important to identify the niche you are occupying. You need to see this from both the viewers perspective and the advertisers perspective. Peter Mckinnon did this very early on. 3. The Digital Product is King - In my opinion the end goal for all youtuber's should be to release a digital product. Why? Because of unlimited replication! Peter currently has 5 digital products on sale such as his Luts pack. This can be a really good source of income. 4. Respect Your Audience - This point may be the most important of the bunch. Having good business ideas is useless if you don't respect your audience. Don't forget they are the people who make it all a reality in the first place.
