The Only Blue Hour Filming Workflow You Need
A step by step guide to filming Blue Hour Join my Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/c/giuligartner Follow along on Instagram: @giuligartner 0:00 - Intro 0:30 - Preparation 1:33 - Camera Settings 2:22 - ISO 3:03 - Aperture 3:44 - Manual Focus 4:33 - Direction 5:09 - Practical Lights 5:53 - Color Grading 8:30 - Outro In this video I break down my step by step process for filming during Blue Hour. It’s by far my favorite time to shoot, especially for cinematic storytelling and natural light cinematography. Because Blue Hour only lasts a short time, it can feel stressful if you’re not prepared. I’ll show you how I approach camera settings, light, and timing so you can focus less on technical decisions and more on creating cinematic images while the light fades. The footage in this video is a mix of different cameras, including the Canon C70, Canon R5, Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K, and even an Osmo Action Cam. Shoutout to my friend @life.of.jam shooting the thumbnail and helping me film a few clips in the video! _____ Business inquiries: photo@giuligartner.com If you are reading this, comment "happy blue hour" Oh, and don't forget to subscribe for future videos! :)
The Secret Formula for Cinematic Videos
You don’t need an expensive camera to make your footage look cinematic :) Join my Patreon: https://patreon.com/giuligartner Follow along on Instagram: @giuligartner 0:00 - Intro 0:36 - Lighting 2:50 - Composition 4:02 - Color 5:33 - Location 6:14 - The Secret Sauce 7:20 - Outro _____ You don’t need an expensive camera to make your footage look cinematic :) In this video I share 5 key elements of filmmaking that will instantly improve the way your videos look and feel using the camera you already have. This works whether you are filming on an iPhone or on cameras like the Canon C70, Sony A7 IV, Canon EOS RP or similar setups. For this video we are not focusing on camera gear because the real magic lies in understanding these principles first. Once you know them well we can talk about camera gear and what suits YOU the most :) I did not start out with a C70. I started with a Canon 60D and upgraded along the way as I learned more and grew. If you are wondering how to make cinematic video footage without overcomplicating things or buying more gear this is the exact approach I use. This is the video I wish I had when I first started out. It would have saved me years of frustration and trial and error. And at the end I share the most important thing I have learned after 10 years as a creative. Written, shot and edited by me :) For this video I used a mix of different cameras including Canon C70, Canon R5, BMPCC 6K and also an Osmo Action Cam but the ideas apply to any camera. _________ Business inquiries: photo@giuligartner.com If you read this, comment "I love the secret sauce" Oh, and don't forget to subscribe for future videos! :)
For Those Who Feel Lost This Time of Year
Hey :) this is another page in my digital diary here on YouTube. Join my Patreon: https://patreon.com/giuligartner Follow along on Instagram: @giuligartner Today I’m exploring the in-between, that quiet shift between seasons and how we often rush to the next chapter without really looking around. This time of the year always feels so reflective, and I can’t believe I’m saying this… but I’m actually excited for winter this year.
A cinematic short film about Time Travel
In this short film, I followed my friend Jack Harding and his Porsche 930 Turbo "Claudia" through the highlands of Scotland. For Jack the car is more than just a classic Porsche, it’s a way to escape to simpler times and really be present in the moment. We follow him driving through quiet roads and beautiful landscapes taking in the scenery and the feeling of being fully in the moment. Why Time Feels Like It's Slipping Away
Have you ever wondered why life feels faster each year? Join my community: https://patreon.com/giuligartner This is the second episode of "Letters From the Inside" where I reflect on what might be behind that feeling and what has helped me slow down. Photography taught me to be present, but I’ve also lost moments by trying too hard to capture them. I’d love to hear what your relationship with time is and how you come back to yourself. I had a lot of fun putting this together and also surprised myself in so many new ways. I’ve been feeling overwhelmed by all the noise on the internet, and at some point, I realized I was part of it too. So I started asking myself what kind of content I actually want to see. Something slower and more intentional. The kind of thing that leaves you feeling inspired or grounded or maybe just a little more in touch with your own thoughts and ideas. _______________ sound design by Levi @leviticuspenner Written, shot, and edited by me _______________ Business inquiries: photo@giuligartner.com If you read this, check the very last seconds of this video! :)

Why I’m Scared to Start YouTube
The life I always wanted didn’t feel like mine anymore. This video is where everything changed. Join my community: https://patreon.com/giuligartner 00:00 – intro 00:41 – the pressure to be perfect 01:26 – the guilt of wanting more 02:11 – waiting for someone to save me 02:41 – what changed? 03:30 – outro Follow along on Instagram: @giuligartner ____________________ I’ve been putting off this video for so long. Not because I didn’t want to make it, but because I was scared. Scared to start. Scared of failing. Scared of saying out loud that something didn’t feel right, even when everything looked perfect from the outside. I built a dream life around travel, photography, and filmmaking. But the truth is, I felt stuck. And I didn’t know how to move forward until I finally picked up my camera and started filming. This video is my way of processing that fear. It’s the start of a more honest and cinematic journey where I show up as a person figuring it out in real time. If you’ve ever been scared to start something you care about, I hope this speaks to you. I don’t know where this journey is going. But I’m glad I took the first step, and I’d love for you to be with me on it. _____ introduction editor, optical and generative effects by R_X sound design by Levi @leviticuspenner written, shot and edited by me :) big thank you to luca and stefan for helping me out on filming some clips thumbnail shot by axel blanch _________ Business inquiries: photo@giuligartner.com If you read this, comment with a ✨ at the end. A cinematic short film about Nostalgia
I can't believe it is finally out! At the beginning of 2022, we started working on this film, my first fully self-funded passion project. The film explores the colorful and adventurous life of the photographer Amelia Le Brun. It was incredible getting to know Amelia (@amslebrun) and portray her story through moving pictures. Who Is The Girl With The Yellow Jacket?
So excited to finally be able to share this story along with the beautiful video and photos we created last September. This is probably the one piece of content that has the most sentimental value and I hope you enjoy it as. This video marks the end of the girl with the yellow jacket, it will always be an anchor that ties me to home and humbles me. It takes me back to the days when my only reason to go outside was to do what I love doing most – capturing nature's beauty. FREE I A collection of Memories
I have been sitting on this footage for a while and put it aside for a few months because I felt like I was stuck with it, I felt like it was not good enough. A few days ago I realised that all these moments of raw beauty I experienced over this last year made me to the person I am today. The collection of every single moment I have lived and experienced are the reason why I am where I am right now. All the good moments but also the bad ones and the mistakes I’ve made are all part of a beautiful past I experienced with people who matter. _______________ A special thanks to everyone who helped me to comeplete this video, check them out: Joelle www.instagram.com/joellefriend Karl www.instagram.com/karl_shakur Yann www.instagram.com/yann__b Kay www.instagram.com/kayvanhuisseling Lukas www.instagram.com/lukasdegroodt Luca www.instagram.com/lux.__a ______________ About the artist: Giulia Woergartne, aka the girl with the yellow jacket or @giuligartner on Instagram, is a travel and commercial photographer, based in northern Italy. The wonders of Norway I Travel Video
This summer I did a 3-week road trip to Norway but I can't really talk about summer vibes cause all we mostly had were the moody and rainy days. I still completely love the moody vibes combined with the beautiful landscapes we saw. I hope this video inspires you to make the best out of your adventures when it is pouring rain and you were hoping for some sunshine to go hiking. ______________ About the artist: Giulia Woergartne, aka the girl with the yellow jacket or @giuligartner on Instagram, is a travel and commercial photographer, based in northern Italy. The Dolomites I Travel Video
I realised that if you go create your art you have to do it for the right reason. For me it is important to give the work I create a purpose and share emotions to touch people and make them feel a certain way. There is no point in rushing from place to place just to take photos so you have new content to share on social media. I want to create content to reach people on a different level. I want to make the viewer feel a certain way, help them to escape for a moment and be inspired. In the last couple of weeks I have gotten a deeper understanding of where I want to take my work. I hope you will enjoy these little memories as much as I enjoyed living them. There were many of those moments where I just wanted to stop time and make it last a little longer. The really good things never last for long but there is no one stopping you to go out and look for more of those moments. Thanks, @kayvanhuisseling and @lukasdegroodt for helping me out with some of their footage and a big shout out to the Dolomites for being such an awesome home! @visitsouthtyrol #mustbysouthtyrol
