UPDATE: Firmware 2.2 did mitigate the streaking, but did not remove it. You can still see it PLEASE WATCH IN 4K. The reason why I didn’t review the camera… As I was testing the GH6 prior to release, I noticed something I didn’t like… Light Streaking! Panasonic tried to fix it, but the BAD NEWS is the problem persisted. The camera was released to the public with this bug that, to me, it eclipsed all the awesomeness of the camera. I HOPE Panasonic will fix it soon, stay tuned for updates. In this episode, I'm taking the attention away from the flashy S1H specs such as 6K, FF and Dual ISO and focusing on this awesome hidden feature called: IMAGE AREA OF VIDEO. UPDATE: Fri 13, 2019 EXTERNAL RAW 12:57 Panasonic just revealed their plan about external recording http://ow.ly/N7PH50w8kIB A firmware update enables the output of 5.9K/29.97p RAW and C4K/59.94p video data to the Atomos Ninja V monitor-recorder. The firmware is scheduled to be launched in early 2020. Panasonic didn't reveal anything about the bit depth, but i assume it'll be 12 bit (I HOPE) That's great news for us filmmakers! I'll try to talk further about it in another episode. After carefully reading all the specs of the S1H after its release , I found a lot of very interesting film-centric features in a camera of that size. Yet there was a couple of set backs and bold claims that I would surely love to challenge here in this episode. They disrupted the market again and are now stepping on the RED Camera’s toes and all the other big players out there.
