A thriller short film about a man discussing his dreams with a therapist. This was a super simple and quickly shot short film. Its far from perfect but the goal was to just create with no excuses. I created this effect by taking three giant mirrors turning them inward and wrapping them in gaffe tape to make a giant prism. Recently I shot and edited a project for a company that involved the Ghostbusters and Stay Puft Marshmallow. Everything was shot early morning to keep shadows off the buildings because I knew I wanted to take the shots and make it look at night. In October of 2018 I invested in a replica space suit with a vision to capture a unique story of the city I grew up exploring. San Francisco is a place that holds great memories for me and I wanted to create something to inspire you to uncover your memories in special places. Being an unconventional cinematic travel video I chose to feature an astronaut as the main character because it is a faceless character viewers can identify with. Whether you live in SF or visit we are all continuously exploring this city—its different hubs, hidden gems, and/or having new experiences as we grow. While filming I ran into many challenges like finding parking near places I wanted to shoot, keeping my gear safe, fog/lighting changes through the seasons, and finding a willing actor to jump into my space suit to name a few. I met so many amazing individuals while filming (explorers of the city and current inhabitants). They all shaped what this film is today and some are even pictured! Last January I traveled to Japan for 3 weeks. Japan was like nothing else I have experienced. A culture where technology clashes with old traditions. When I came home with about 50 hours of footage I had no clue how I wanted portray my video. I kept coming back to the idea of a dystopia / futuristic vibe with a darker edge. Also in this video I wanted to push the boundaries of my VFX skills in after effects. For my first serious swing at it I think I did a pretty dandy job. On my most recent trip I had the opportunity to travel to the vast landscapes and sprawling mountains in the beautiful country of Mongolia. I was invited to film eagle hunters in the Altai Mountains in Western Mongolia to capture the beauty of this local tradition that has been passed from generation to generation. Eagle hunting is done in the winter months and the temperatures we experienced ranged from -23 to -48 degrees celsius. Challenges arose causing my gear to freeze all 5 days we were hunting in the mountains. This experience is a specific tour organized by Blue Wolf Travel, which includes 8 days in Western Mongolia living and hunting with the local eagle hunters.
