At around 82ºN on my way to the North Pole, I captured a video of a Polar Bear walking over pancake ice as a storm swell pushed waves beneath the ice. Here is the story behind the video! Today we reached the marginal ice zone at 82° on our way down from the North Pole. This area was full of newly formed circular pancake ice and marks the bridge between the open ocean and the dense Arctic sea ice. After a week of seeing no Polar bears further north (only a few tracks), we witnessed 6 individual and healthy looking Polar Bears in the marginal ice zone, as well as a few seals. This area seems to be teeming with life. Seeing Polar Bears stand up always comes as a shock. It seems like an unnatural movement but is something that they do all the time to get a higher vantage point. Captured on the Ronin 4D on board @lecommandantcharcot as we make our way towards Greenland out at sea.

After reaching the sea ice at 82° North, we came across this young male Polar Bear riding the storm swells and navigating effortlessly through a maze of pack ice. One of the most incredible sights I’ve witnessed in the Arctic. Watch until the end to see the power of the swell moving beneath the ice. Scenic views over the Laugavegur trail in the Icelandic highlands. The trail takes you through the Fjallabak region starting in Landmannalaugar and ending in Þórsmörk, a world of geothermal mountain ranges, vibrant green moss fields and volcanic ash covered landscapes. I hiked it over 3 days, capturing drone perspectives in between the chaotic storm weather that we faced along the way.

Early one autumn morning, we set sail from from home in Iceland to cross the infamous Denmark straight to Greenland. Departing from Húsavík, we made the crossing in 2.5 days passing the Arctic circle before arriving into the harbour of Ittoqqortoormiit in East Greenland. Further - A short film on my journey of living and capturing images in Iceland. Earlier this summer I joined forces with my closest friends at 66° North to reach a remote area of Vatnajökull by plane. My goal was to realise a dream of shooting over a specific section of ice on Breiðamerkurjökull, something that I’d been planning out for years. Of course, the classic unpredictable Icelandic weather threw many challenges at us along the way, but eventually we made it. Icefjord - An aerial exploration short film, shot over the Ilulissat Ice Fjord in West Greenland. After five days alone amongst the town of Ilulissat, I had gained a new perspective on the Arctic. An abundance of gigantic icebergs line the shore and span way out into the fjord. This experience truly opened my eyes to the size and sheer power of glaciers.
