Back at it on another documentary. This one is a short doc telling the story of Emiliano Warcorey and his MMA career. We appreciate the legendary Daru Strong for letting us film in his gym. We shot this on the RED Komodo with Tokina 25-75mm lens. Lighting setup was kept really simple using just a few lights including the Aputure 300x blasting through a 5x6 diffusion panel with a grid, and then two Nanlite pavotubes at 2800k for some edge lighting and accent lights.

A sneak peek into how I shoot product B-Roll for my YouTube videos. Here I've made a simple rig to hold the lens at a dynamic angle by using a large cheeseplate gaff taped to the table. I then used friction arm with a Manfrotto Super Clamp attached to hold the lens. I then used the Rhino Slider with Arc 2 motion head to create a simple tilt camera move.

I used the RED Komodo 6K cinema camera with the Sigma 24-70 to shoot the pit lane and a combination of the Sigma 70-200 and 150-600 for the majority of the track shots. Confused if you should use a preview LUT on your field monitor or your camera? In this video I explain why you'd want to use a LUT on your field monitor versus on the camera itself. I also show you how to import LUTs on the Atomos Shinobi II field monitor. ► FOR ANYONE STRUGGLING WITH LOADING THE LUTS: First step: Use a FAT32 aka MS-DOS formatted SD Card. Use a smaller SD card, by that I mean 32GB or lower capacity. The Shinobi II doesn't like to read larger cards. Next, make sure you're using an X33 LUT. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. The monitor won't recognize an X66 LUT. This should be a .CUBE file. If it's not .CUBE, it wont work. The new Kinotehnik LCDVF BM5 BMPCC 4K Viewfinder is here. Kinotehnik was kind enough to send me one to test out so I’m reviewing it for you in this video! Not only is this a BMPCC 4K Viewfinder but this viewfinder also works with the popular SmallHD 5” HDMI monitor as well as the Blackmagic Design 5” Video Assist monitor. If you’re used to shooting on a DSLR, you have the option to use the camera’s viewfinder. And while they’re not always the best, the option is there. With the Pocket 4K, that option isn’t there. The BMPCC4K has the gigantic screen, and while for the most part…that’s enough, there are times where it can be difficult to view the BMPCC 4K screen due to glare from the sun, or maybe a street light.
