Documentary: Two Days Before Chasiv Yar
- Enable subtitles by pressing the captions icon (ENG/UA/FR/ES/DE) - Увімкніть субтитри натиснувши на іконку C Short Documentary: A group of older Ukrainian conscripts from the 24:th mechanized brigade are doing their second last day of training out of fifteen before being sent to the frontlines of Chasiv Yar in August 2024. Their fates are today unknown. Synopsis: The men in this short film was taken to a Ukrainian base for a month-long training—some voluntarily, others involuntarily. The program has faced criticism for its lack of relevance to the brutal realities of the frontlines. However, they later underwent an intensive 15-day course led by Swedish volunteer instructor Magnus Ek, whose mission is to prepare them as best as possible for what lies ahead. According to local Ukrainian sources, even this short training is considered a privilege. Two Days Before Chasiv Yar is filmed near the frontline the day before the last of this course - before the unit is sent to Chasiv Yar. The purpose of the film is to honor them. Lumix GH7 is misunderstood, why?
This video turned into a discussion instead of a review after using it since day of release, trying to dive into why so few are talking about it half a year later. What happened and who is the GH7 for? There are many great mirrorless videocameras and most of them will do for most jobs nowdays, whatever floats the boat, but if you really want to pick things appart I think there are points to be made with the Lumix GH7 and it's target audience and who it's advantageous for, compromising using a MFT sensor. And maybe answer why there is so little content about it on youtube compared to other cameras. *Another pro to the GH7 I didn’t mention in this video is the Pixel by Pixel function, which allows to have an additional zoom by using a smaller area of the sensor while maintaining 4k resolution. I calculated it to give an approximate 17mm zoom. I do not advice anyone to go into a warzone. If Lumix is here, things I’d add to the GH7, 1) Dual native ISO 2) Mini XLR input with internal 32 bit float 3 Internal Braw Gear used in this video: - Panasonic Lumix GH7 - Metabones Ultra 0.71x Speedbooster EF-MFT with 4.10 update - Sigma 24-105mm (at about 50mm zoom, caused some seeking in this scene as you'll notice) - Freewell V.2 Hybrid VND/CPL filter - Freewell Snowmist filter - Lexar CFExpress Type B Silver Pro 512 Gigabytes - My detailed kit: https://kit.co/VDBfilms _______ Affiliate links: Dehancer: Get 10% off Dehancer with promocode: VDBFILM Dehancer's website: https://www.dehancer.com/ Artlist: Get 2 months of free subscription from Artlist when signing up for one year: https://bit.ly/3iMzPz3 Audiio: Get 70% off your first year with Audiio: https://audiio.com/partner?oid=1&affid=1570 ________ Say hi ! 👋 Email: adrian@vdbfilm.com site: https://adrianvandenbroeck.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/adrianvdbroeck

Few shots from Riga - Latvia testing the Lumix GH7 paired with the Sigma 18-35. Effectively with the speedbooster and pixel by pixel gives a approx 25-67 mm fullframe equivalent. Lumix GH7 + Sigma 18-35 | Kraków Cinematic
Short cinematic trying the Lumix GH7 + Metabones 0.71x Ultra + Sigma 18-35, run and gun in Kraków. Many clips on youtube from the GH6 and previous GH cameras looked very low contrast / filtered to me somehow so I wanted to try something opposing to that first pulling up the files in Resolve. Lumix GH7 + Sigma 18-35, Metabones PDAF 4.10 UPDATE
(instructions below) Sold my Lumix S5 and Picked up a GH7 in Poland on my way to Ukraine where I will use it in the field with some of my bmpcc4k lenses. Metabones was cool enough to communicate about this update via email, they have been developing this for the G9 II - but the PDAF system is the same, so it works on the GH7 aswell. I've only used this camera for 2-3 days already and will do a more deep-dive review using it in the real world for both photo and video, grading aswell. Outro shots are with the GH7. I was pretty surprised after this test, it worked well over my expectations. Glad I'm invested in Metabones, you get what you pay for and the Vancouver company keeps true to that. UPDATE LINK: https://www.metabones.com/article/of/contact-us •Select win/mac under Micro Four Thirds v.4.10 and scroll down to the bottom of the page to download. •Start the software and plug the speedbooster to the computer, follow the instructions. •Make sure that the ”Combine OIS and ES for Panasonic; legacy AF for Olympus; disable AF for Blackmagic" is turned ’OFF’ in the software menu when you have the speedbooster connected to the computer. Otherwise the PDAF will not function. Gear used: - Lumix GH7 - Metabones Ultra 0.71x Speedbooster - Lens: Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 - K&F Concept 82mm Fader Neutral Density Variable Filter with step-down rings - Lexar 1667x V60 256gb card - Smallrig Mamba cage - Iphone 15 pro with a VND and blackmagic app for the intro Like and subscribe for more content from the GH7. _______ Affiliate links: Dehancer: Get 10% off Dehancer with promocode: VDBFILM Dehancer's website: https://www.dehancer.com/ Artlist: Get 2 months of free subscription from Artlist when signing up for one year: https://bit.ly/3iMzPz3 Audiio: Get 70% off your first year with Audiio: https://audiio.com/partner?oid=1&affid=1570 ________ Say hi ! 👋 Email: adrian@vdbfilm.com site: https://adrianvandenbroeck.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/adrianvdbroeck
Why the BMPCC 4K in 2025 ?
FX30? S5IIx? ZVE1? A7IV? Here's a perspective after almost 3 years of using the bmpcc4k alongside other cameras. Shot on Lumix S5 + 20-60mm in the intro, rest on the bmpcc4k with the metabones 0.71x + Sigma 24-105. The bmpcc4k is a bold camera compared to the competition, some dislike it and for others its still irreplaceable for reasons mentioned in the video. Kraków Cinematic Portrait | Shot on BMPCC 4K + Sigma 24-105 f4
Kraków is a very old city in Poland dating back to the stone age, rich of culture and has a strong charismatic vibe to it. It used to be the capital of Poland until 1596. I didn't expect anything going past there as I didn't know much about it but the size struck me, the city is huge (in european terms at least). A visit to Kraków is definitely worth it, don't miss out reading on some of it's history because it's really fascinating. Color Shifts | ARGENTINA | Shot on BMPCC 4K
Shot in La Pampa - Argentina on the Blackmagic pocket cinema camera 4k during a work assignment. Traveling to La Pampa from Buenos Aires was like night and day, the city has over 15 million people living in it and it's one of those cities you just never see the end of as you drive through it. Once you get out from the city to the country it gets to the opposite very quickly, vastness as long as the eye can reach. The Argentinian people are extremely humble, the enviroment is breathtaking and I hope I get the chance to visit this beautiful country again some time. Kyiv Snapshot | Shot on Lumix S5
I ran across the ukrainian capital centre with a couple of friends and shot this in late winter. Kyiv is really impressive, I was surprised how completely different it was to the rest of the country. Lumix S5 - Will it replace my Bmpcc4k?
#filmmaking #panasonic #blackmagicdesign Recorded with the bmpcc4k on a tripod. Light used was a Amaran 60x, yet to get a softbox and use the LAV mic if this is gonna turn into a habit. * Another thing I've learned in the field is that the S5 battery can be charged hooking a USB-c cable directly to the camera. The pocket 4k can't. Super handy to charge the S5 in the car USB output or with a powerbank between shooting. - Find my complete S5 and bmpcc4k kits on: https://kit.co/VDBfilms ________________ Get 2 months of free subscription from Artlist when signing up for one year: https://bit.ly/3iMzPz3 Get 10% off Dehancer with promocode: VDBFILM Dehancer's website: https://www.dehancer.com/ ________________ Say hi ! 👋 Email: adrian@vdbfilm.com site: https://adrianvandenbroeck.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/adrianvdbroeck
Stockholm Christmas Eve | Shot on BMPCC 4K
Visited my home-town Stockholm for christmas, haven't lived here in 10 years. Lumix S5 cinematic 4K test | December sun
Got a Panasonic Lumix S5, the bmpcc4k will still be my main camera however there are situations outside a controlled space where a camera like this and it's features makes more sence. Should I make a video explaining the reasons and why I picked this specific camera? Or make other informational/educational videos? Let me know! Filmed in Copenhagen and the tip of southern Sweden. November in Sweden this year was the darkest in 11 years, 1 day with sun during the whole month. Recent weeks the sky opened up again and I used the opportunity to test the S5. However I found digital artifacts in 2 clips on the Kingston after it became about half full. Rome a day in late July. It was above 40 degrees celcius during the day and all places of shade were crowded with people. So I fought to capture this portrait! Vienna cinematic Portrait | Shot on BMPCC 4K
Short portrait from a day in beautiful Vienna, which is such an interesting place. It's placed right above Italy, next to Czech Republic and south of Germany. Yet so uniquely different from all. It's so quiet, clean and organized which is a contrast to it's geolocation, rich and vital history with it's composers and science.
