This is a montage shot on the Helios 44 and Sony FX3 and A1. I'd heard about this lens for many years now, but always procrastinated buying it until recently. I finally ordered it from ebay at the start of this year. It’s slowly become my favorite lens. I use it on my Sony cameras with this adapter: https://amzn.to/3SH7HfY It’s by no means perfect. That’s the whole point. This lens is most known for it’s swirly, distinct bokeh. But it’s actually more than that. The Helios, and vintage lenses in general, render images in a more pleasing way compared to modern lenses. The flaring of the helios. The softer tones. The character. I’d pick the helios lens any day over the lens on the leica q3. Or a Sony GM lens (except for autofocus). The Ricoh GR 3 is a great little camera that I've been using more and more recently. This is one third review and two thirds a street photography vlog. I also shot some film on this day, vision3 and portra800 - I might make another video about the vision3. Fun fact, if you saw the video I did few weeks ago about neon night photography in Seoul, this was filmed on the same day. The Ricoh GR iii is not perfect of course, but I'm quite happy with mine. I shot Cinestill 800t film with my XPan (Fuji tx-1) and 45mm f4 lens in Seoul, South Korea. This was the first time I tried using Cinestill800t during the daytime, and was quite pleased with the results. Also shared some Portra shots at the end. I'm not usually this positive in my own analysis, but this was one of those rare days that I actually liked what I came up with - I hope you will, too. Cinestill 800t is a tungsten light balanced film, giving it a colder color cast. It usually is meant for night or, you know, tungsten light environmnets, but I find it also works great during gloomy days, in daylight. Welcome to my second rainy day street photography behind the scenes video! This is supposed to just be a behind the scenes vlog in POV, but I'll also share some street photography tips as we go along. On a rainy day in Bangkok, I put a 360 enabled gopro max on top of my sony a7s3 and went out for a quick POV street photography session. It's the rainy season, and I was on the lookout for some moody umbrella shots and dark scenes.
